Have You Ever Tried Kopi Luwak?

Civet

Kopi Luwak, AKA Civet Coffee one of the rarest and most expensive coffees in the world. It’s made from coffee cherries that were eaten and passed through the digestive tract of the Civet, a cat like animal. The civets eat the cherries, but the beans pass through their system undigested. The cherries are then collected, cleaned and roasted.

If you have tried it, what did you think of it?

Before I won a bag of Rocket Fuel Coffee Kopi Luwak earlier this year from Coffee Cup News, I never thought that I would drink it. I’ll admit that it does sound a little disgusting. However, the cleaning and roasting process purifies it and by the time it makes it to the coffee cup, it’s perfectly safe to drink. Call me weird, but I thought it was a delicious too. Read my review of Kopi Luwak.

Last week’s question was “Pick Your Roast?”

All week long Medium Roast had a dominating lead, but literally over night, Dark Roast came from behind to tie it. Each choice received 38% of the vote.

Light Roast finished last with 24% of the vote.

I was surprised that medium roast had such a lead the whole time. Many of you guys, the readers of Daily Shot Of Coffee mention your fondness of dark roasts in the comments, on Facebook and Twitter often. It looks like all the dark roast fans just waited until the last night to vote.
